The Computer

Let’s start with the beginning :

To be able to make the flight simulator works, it will have to be installed on a Computer. The more expensive it is, the better it is To have a maximum of details and quallity textures, you will need a Graphic Card able to generate a maximum of detail while keeping the best Frame Rate possible (Usualy more than 20 is enough on Flight Simulation. More than 30 is excellent).

your eyes sees in a fluid way at 24images/second. Lower than that, what you see starts to be jerked. Less than 15 FPS (Frame Per Second), your flight is completely jerked and is not any more pleasant.

It will also be necessary for you to invest in a good RAM with high power. 32 Go of RAM is excellent, 64 it is a must. Beyond, not big interest, your simulator will not use it.

I thus opted for the following configuration :

Garmin 1000 Software :

  • For P3D : Flight1 It’s a must have in term of G1000 Simulation
  • For X-Plane : Glass Cockpit – Project Magenta Work with XPWide Client (and XPUIPC) but also with WideFS and FSUIPC (P3D). Very good software too.
